are never guaranteed. Anyone promising you a certain number of sales
is simply not telling you the truth. You can however make estimations.
Use
this simple formula to estimate how many visitors you need to meet
your sales/sign-up goals.
- Figure
out how many sales/sign-ups you want (quantity--not dollar value)
- Assume
a conversion rate of 1% as a baseline
- A
conversion is = to a visitor that becomes a customer or a
sign-up.
- A
conversion rate is defined as number of actual sales divided
by the number of site visitors in a given period). For example
2 sales per 100 visitors = 2% or a .02 conversion rate. By
the way, though the industry says that .02% the average, conversion
rates (above 1%) are achievable with the right marketing message
and proper targeting. Keep tweaking your site content and
offer until you get the conversion rate desired.
Once
you have this info, plug your numbers into the equation below.

So
as an example: To sell 200 items
at a conversion rate of 1%
Number
of visitors = 200/.01
The
minimum number of visitors required = 20,000
Therefore,
you would need at least 20,000 visitors (minimum) to get 200* sales,
assuming that you can convert your visitors with a hot offer! The
"right words" can convert the "right visitors"

your campaign doesn't give you the results you wanted, consider
changing your site content to capture your audience's attention.
